Dear B,
The monsoons are here and I happened to be travelling when the first showers hit the city. So here is something I happened to type on my mobile as my father drove the car to our destination.
A surprise light strikes through the evening sky
A roar bellowing runs close by
A roar bellowing runs close by
A passerby looks up towards heaven
Hoping for a downpour or a drizzle even
Hoping for a downpour or a drizzle even
Was I awaiting the monsoon season?
Or was I wanting to get away from the bizarre heat oven?
Or was I wanting to get away from the bizarre heat oven?
As I looked out the car window at a dog on the street
Drops from the sky fell heavily at its feet
Drops from the sky fell heavily at its feet
Shivering from the cold, the water and the wind
It looked for shelter, found none but its skin
It looked for shelter, found none but its skin
I propelled forwards thanking the rain gods
When suddenly the rainfall came down with a mighty force
When suddenly the rainfall came down with a mighty force
Clattering on the building roofs and heads of men
It sang in my ears again and again
It sang in my ears again and again
Wonderful I felt and surprised even
For this is the first time rain spoke to a mere human
Hope you enjoy the monsoons too :)
Love,
N
